Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a holistic system of healthcare, treating the whole body system – physical, emotional and spiritual – to restore health and vitality.
TCM considers qi (pronounced ‘chi’), our energetic life force, to circulate through the body along subtle pathways. Interruptions to this flow are considered to be the underlying cause of disease. TCM seeks to restore the flow of qi and bring the body into balance.
Beginning with a pulse and tongue diagnosis, treatment includes acupuncture, tui na (massage) and sometimes herbal prescriptions.
